Steel City Kitties, Inc. has our annual show the second weekend in February each year in the Pittsburgh, PA area. If you are interested in what is happening at the cat shows, please visit the CFA web site under cat shows.

What to expect at a Cat Show

Lots, lots, lots of cats from small and thin to big and furry. Pedigreed cats are judged to the CFA standard. You will be able to meet breeders and discuss their breed with them and perhaps learn something new about your favorite breed. If you like kitty cat shopping, this is the place to be. You will see many vendors selling premium cat food, toys that will give your kitty hours of fun, artists with cat jewelry, silk scarves, etc. We will also have a shelter on board who will help you find a wonderful pet to add to your family. We try to have an "Ask the Vet" table where you can find out about health issues of your kitty. Most of all, watch the beautiful pedigreed cats being judged and wait for the moment when Best Cat is picked in each ring.

Entering your Household Pet

Are you interested in showing your cat in the Household Pet Division? Your cat has to be entered at least 10 days of the advertised show date. Your kitty must be vaccinated and free from any type of parasites including fleas or fungus. Make sure your cat is clean and healthy and your kitty may just win the Rosette for best household pet in show. As CFA is against declawing, no declawed kitty will be accepted in the household pet division. Speaking of claws, make sure that your kitty has had his or her nails cut in both the front and back a day or two before the show begins. There is no limit on age of your kitty except that it has to be at least four months of age.

The New Bee program is for people new to showing cats in CFA.
